#GoEAThical: European youth advocate for sustainable food supply chains that respect migrant workers’ rights and reduce climate change, hunger and poverty as key drivers of migration.
Our food system has a major impact on climate change and the causes of migration (poverty, hunger, etc.). To ensure a sustainable change in the attitudes and behaviour of more than 30 million young Europeans, we will start by analysing food consumption, highlighting the global links between the issues and making it clear that we all have a leading role to play in promoting a fairer, more dignified and more inclusive world.
One of the main objectives of Our Food. Our Future – We are hungry for Justice is to raise awareness and mobilise young Europeans to adopt sustainable consumption patterns and thus contribute to promoting a fairer, more dignified and sustainable development.
We want to increase the commitment of young people in the EU to European values of human rights and solidarity, as well as to tackle the global challenges of migration, climate change and a sustainable food system. In line with the ‘People and Planet’ strands of the European Consensus on Development and the 2030 Agenda, the project will encourage young people in the EU to adopt sustainable consumption patterns and to actively support sustainable food supply chains, fair trade relations, respect for human and workers’ rights, and sustainable development through improved institutional and corporate policies at EU and Member State level.
