LIFE4ADAPT – Adapting to climate change
LIFE4ADAPT is Slovenia’s strategic integrated project for adaptation to climate change. The aim of the project is to contribute to the overall implementation of the national climate change adaptation strategy. Within the project, partners will develop solutions for effective adaptation to the increasing frequency of extreme weather events and long-term environmental change.
The project comprises the following key activities: upgrading climate services at the Slovenian Environment Agency, strengthening inter-departmental cooperation, upgrading the Climate Portal, capacity building and support for climate change adaptation measures for regions and municipalities, supported by activities for the implementation of concrete pilot measures, communication, education and the creation of a system for monitoring and evaluation of innovative financial mechanisms for the implementation of adaptation measures.
Focus is responsible for the participatory design of pilot adaptation measures for vulnerable groups in the municipality of Hrastnik and in one of the homes for the elderly in Ljubljana. In addition, Focus is responsible for developing recommendations, training and education on the involvement of vulnerable groups in the design of climate change adaptation measures and for developing recommendations to improve the climate resilience of communities and vulnerable infrastructure.
